Here you will be able to learn more about the ABC program, how the fundraiser works, and how to sign up.
Edina ABC Program
Students that participate in this program are incredibly intelligent, but may not be able to live up to their academic potential in the areas in which they live. ABC’s goal is to eliminate that disadvantage and give these students every opportunity to succeed.
ABC’s Mission Statement:
"ABC is a national organization dedicated to providing strong educational opportunities to students of color. The ABC goal is to increase the number of well-educated minority students and make it possible for deserving students to reach their full potential.
Our Edina ABC chapter has been operating since 1972. In 2005 we reached a milestone and became the first ABC chapter to graduate 100 students."
All proceeds from the 5K run will go to this non-profit organization, which relies heavily on donations in order to succeed-
“The average cost to run the program with twelve students is $175,000.00 per year.”

How It Works
Entry Fee:
Adult- $25, Youth/Student- $15, Families- $40/Max
Each participant will receive a t-shirt upon their arrival to the race start. Please indicate on the sign up form your choice for t-shirt size- Adult S, M, L or Youth M (4 max per family, additional t-shirts are $5 each). Children are welcome at this event, as volunteers will be watching anyone who wishes to sled while their parents participate in the race. Please remember also that this isn’t a highly competitive event- walking, jogging, and even pulling friends in sleds is completely acceptable and encouraged!
Please remember that all proceeds will be donated to the ABC program!
DATE: January 30, 2010
9:30 AM: Sign-in and T-shirt Pickup for 5K walk/run.
10:00 AM: RACE START
10:45 AM: Raffle drawing for prizes

How to Sign Up

Form of Payment: Cash, check made out to EHS STUDENT COUNCIL or online registration.
